1. Always ready your heal rune. From the tutorial, you are able to get heal rune that will recover 250 health points upon activation. This is very useful especially when dealing with tough levels and you really need some assistance. Just remember that rune charge is carrier across levels so you really need to ready this life-saving rune. For you to use this rune in times that you really need this most while you must ensure that this is ready when that situation happen. This is between the decision if you are going to use it or not and if you decided to use it even you have still life that can handle another turn, you will not find this health rune ready when you reach a situation when you really need it most.
2. Know your opponent. From having a knowledge based on your enemy, you are able to use the right element. Well in this game every opponent has their own weaknesses and you are able to find that when you tap on a level and seeing it as an info with the list of stats of monster you will encounter for that specific level. From it, you have hint on what element you can match to get the most advantage. And when it comes to element, every weapon has their own specific elemental boosters too, so you can also use elemental advantage from your weapon.
3. Create “convert tiles.” This special tile is not in game for nothing and you are able to activate them from matching four or more different elements. Upon matching the convert tiles to another matching elements it will turn the entire row or column based on which convert tile you formed bringing into a new same element plus with additional chain. These are great especially if you are looking for big character to your runes and want to blast off massive damage.
4. Switch runes based on your next move. Just like what we’ve mentioned you are able to see details regarding with what opponent is waiting on you. From that idea, you should switch up your runes according to your next action. In Spellfall, you will see runes as special ability that go in the sockets on your equipment. They come actually into two flavors such as active and passive. When you say passive rune, they are always activated as long as they’re on its socket while for active runes, you must charge it first to be used just like with heal runes. For every rune, it has a color that matches with a magic element while matching that corresponding element will charge the meter at the bottom. When it successfully full, your rune is ready to use. You can use as many possible runes as you like what you need only to do is to switch between active runes by simply tapping the button located the at bottom left of your screen. Just a reminder, you must keep in mind that only your currently selected rune can be charged so even if you match an element that corresponds to one of your runes, this will not take effect as long as this is not selected. From here you will realize that you need to switch up runes based on your next move. It is also a good practice to keep switching those runes that already charged and yet you don’t want it to use.
5. Plan your action ahead. If you are going to consider those share tips above, you will say that planning ahead will give you advantage. As you start playing the game, this will not require you much from your strategy but as you continue playing and make progress, the game will ask you to do something strategically from using runes and from planning ahead for every action you wish to make. Planning ahead means you should not think for closest 3 match anymore but always consider one step ahead so you are able to access more matches and combos. From thinking ahead of your action, you can formulate for big chains. You must think ahead on where elements are going to drop and using that idea to set up for big chains that can result for massive damage. This will work especially with spell tiles as the bigger the match the higher the chance for you.
