As you can see before you start a level, you will be asked if you want to take a random person’s captain cahracter along as a guest. And then after you beat the level, you can send them a friend request which you can do to everyone you play with as the more friends you have the more your chance to play with them so you can earn more Friend Points which you can exchange for characters.
