For those avid fan of this most popular TV series in US, now we are able to witness their newly released apps that we can play for both iOS and Android powered device. The game is about putting end to the Governor’s tyranny and taking over Woodbury. But actually that is not easy since before you stands the perceived safe haven of Woodbury, you need first to step down the governing power while pitting people against each other in ways which will let you question humanity. But don’t worry, a small group of rebels will fight for their lives to break free from the tyranny and you will be the biggest piece in this fight.
To rate this game, should I say that this is a thrilling, mature adventure constantly fighting between life and the undead through The Walking Dead: Road to Survival. In this game, you are able to upgrade your team, customize your survivors to boost heir powers, skills and weapons and this will help you as you play the game. Keep in mind that the game is getting difficult as you continue making progress, so you really need to upgrade your team and manage it wisely. Aside from upgrading your team, most battles will decides on how you build your ultimate base to increase your power and defense against attacks. And in the end, this is war against walkers and humanity. And as part of your battle we are here to share to you some tips and tricks for an effective gameplay.
1. Don’t claim your rewards right away. But the best thing to do here is to suspend your rewards there unless you really need them. Don’t worry as they are safe in the missions/achievements tab and they can’t be stolen by other players and that is why you will keep them there. Since once you claim it and place it on your total resource tab, other player can ransack it once you fail to defend them. Just save your resources for quick progress as well as if you need some instantly resources for your upgrade.
2. Memorize how elements flow. The same with other apps elemental property flow, here in The Walking Dead: Road to Survival follows the same mechanic wherein each element has their own advantage and disadvantage over another. To talk it in game, there are four elements or colors in game and you need to ensure to know what they are good against with. You can tap your enemy in battle which will show you in the bottom bar if there are any information before every mission too and this will also inform you on what you are up against with.
3. Boost the level of your main characters. In this game, you can keep no more than 15 characters at all times and because of that, you need to always upgrade the rarest one first and try to max them out. Preferably you should have all elements covered with high level characters but that’s more of a game of luck and patience so you need to aim at having your best characters leveled up first. You can consider using your one star and then two-star characters as upgrade materials. As you continue making progress in game, you are able to unlock better characters and use them to replace the lower tier characters.
4. Upgrade your characters. Just like what we mentioned that you are able to unlock most characters later on, you need also to upgrade them which can give you better power for your arsenal. So you need to max-out everything you have and then upgrade them so you can level them up more. Here you need different items for upgrading and you can find out in your inventory where those items can be found.
5. Grind on previous your previous missions. We mentioned about acquiring items which you need to upgrade a certain character. And the best thing you can do here for you to get those item is by replaying those missions and grind those previous level. Actually it is nice and fun to play through the missions and progress but there are times wherein you have to grind on the same missions over and over again to get more survivors, items and also resources. So just replay missions based on the items you need based on the areas you are able to acquire them. You can also use resources that you collected from grinding to train more survivors and use them to upgrade existing ones. Yes you need patience but with this system, you will never find this game too difficult to play.
6. The choice is yours. Actually here,each choice that you make will have a different outcome and will change the course of the game. In this part, there is no real best choice and you can clearly not anticipate them so you should follow your guts. As for recommendation since you are just beginner, it is better to play it usually safe in most time and you will get a positive result.
7. Always keep your distance from walkers. Upon fighting hordes of zombies, it is best for you to attack and eliminate the closest walkers first and then the ones in the back. Keep in mind that the closes zombies will move in faster and attack first but you will usually have no problem to take them all out before they will get closer to you. But the game works differently when you are fighting bosses or human encouter so you really need to have a good strategy in this part.
8. Take advantage with the autoplay. There is an autoplay feature in game but then there is only right moment where you can use this effectively. Well, with the autoplay feature, you can do it with AI encounter as this works best on it. But definitely when it comes in fighting humans, I it is better to play it strategically. When you are grinding, it is best to go with autoplay. The only thing that is not effective with autoplay is that there no focus fire between target. The AI seems to spread out the damage and doesn’t take out enemies into focus fire which is highly recommended so you can eliminate enemy as soon as possible as well as reducing the amount of damage they can inflict to you.
9. Take advantage with your rush attacks. First thing first, you need to ensure that you know what each of your active characters’ rush attack does so you can use them in right moment. It is best for you to save them until you reach the final wave and unleash all you’ve got on this stage. Most of the time, rush attacks can make difference between battle.
10. You should create more teams. In The Walking Dead: Road To Survival, you can have up to three teams active at the same time and you should have at least two: the first one is with your best character which will be used with your raids/defense from raiders and the other one which can be altered during single player missions based on the opponent you are currently facing. But the best of it is to have a 4-class team for raiding/defending a team with class advantage for each mission you encounter. Though as a beginner, you can’t make it easier but definitely that is not impossible just always select your best members in terms of damage and health.
