Plants vs. Zombies Coins, Keys & Stars Hack & Cheats

Plants Vs Zombies is a hugely popular tower defense game first released in 2009 by PopCap Games for PC and Mac. It has since been released on virtually every platform imaginable since then: Chrome, iOS, Xbox, Playstation, Nintendo DS, Android, Windows Phone, and Blackberries, to name a smattering of these devices. The game has also spawned a sequel on some of these platforms. Today, we’re talking about one of the few different versions available on the Android platform: Plants Vs Zombies (free). There’s also a Plants Vs Zombies game available for a small fee, and the sequel as well. This particular version of the game sports over 10 million downloads and a 4.4 score out of 1.1 million reviewers. The paid version of the game has over 1 million downloads, and the sequel sports over 5 million. That’s 16 million people who’ve played this franchise just on the Android.

In Plants Vs Zombies you take the role of a homeowner who is perhaps a bit too obsessed with gardening, and your house is being attacked by a wide assortment of various zombies. You play the game by planting a wide variety of plants, which are quite eager to kill some zombies. You have five lanes which you must defend from the encroaching zombie horde. You plant your plants in these five lanes, which are split into 9 sections each. You can plant one plant per each of the 9 sections- meaning you can place 45 plants in all. You defeat a set number of zombies per stage, moving on to the next stage when you manage to beat all the zombies without letting any of them reach your house. As you progress through the stages, you unlock new levels which introduce new gameplay mechanics: playing at night and a pool to name a couple.

You receive the in-stage currency sun periodically during the daytime levels, which you use to build sunflowers or sun shrooms which produce more sun. You use this additional sun to plant any number of additional offensive or defensive plants that you have room for to battle the zombie horde. This is the basic gameplay-but there are some additional twists: a zombie riding a zamboni can only be stopped by a spike strip, for instance. This means that it is very important for a player to survey a level before they play it-or they might find themselves without the plant that is essentially required to win.

There is an additional currency in the game that persists between levels: coins. You gain these coins by defeating enemies in the game as a random drop. These coins can be used in Crazy Dave’s shop to purchase minigames and additional seed types. There isn’t a need to grind for coins, however, as you start out with 200,000 of them in this version. I was able to buy all of the minigames and the plant types and still had over 100,000 coins leftover. You gain access to Crazy Dave’s shop through completing stages in the game.

In my opinion, the mini games you can unlock here are almost more fun than the main game itself! There’s one mode that flips the traditional tower defense mechanic and lets you play as the zombies assaulting the house, which is very satisfying and refreshing-being the villain in a videogame isn’t a common thing! Another gives you a large surplus of sun and removes the ability to produce more- allowing you to plan out and build your defenses before the onslaught starts. This last mini-game is the most fun to me, as it removes the issues I started to feel with the fatigue of repetition of planting sunflowers again each level.

The only major quibble I had with the game was the fact that it did get a bit tedious to have to restart the garden with each successive level. To that end, a speed up button would have done wonders to alleviate this. Sitting there waiting 10+ seconds for a sun piece worth only 25 at the beginning of the game constantly grew annoying. (for reference a Pea Shooter- the cheapest offensive plant, costs 100 sun)

Freemium

This game is a prime example of how free games should be done. You have access to the full game, with no content locked out to you- there are no plants that you have to buy for real money- and while you can purchase coins with real money there is no real need to do so as long as you play the game normally. You have the option to remove the ads for a one time payment of $3 which is recommended if you’re going to be playing this game for a lengthy amount of time, as the ads can be annoying. If you’re not bothered by the ads and have no issues with earning coins through normal gameplay (not grinding!) then you’ll be well pleased with this free game.

Plants vs. Zombies Coins, Keys & Stars Hack

If you are playing Plants vs. Zombies on your mobile device or tablet, then you know that there are in-game items you can purchase to help you out, such as coins and keys. These items include coins, keys, and stars, but these in-game purchases cost real money, and this gets expensive quickly. This is why AppGameCheats decided to put out a free hack, which you can use on both Android and iOS to get unlimited coins, stars, and keys completely for free.

In the picture below, you will see the options menu for the Plants vs. Zombies hack generator, which is really easy to use even if it’s your first time using a hack tool.

Simply download the Plants vs. Zombies coins, keys, and stars hack, which takes about 30 seconds, and then it will automatically install from there. You will need to choose which device you are using, either iOS or Android, then you will need to click “Connect” so that your Plants vs. Zombies game and the hack tool will be linked. You will be able to then input how many Plants vs. Zombies items you want to add to your account, you can choose one or all of the listed items to add.

From there, just tap “Start” to begin the hack generator , which takes about 45 seconds to complete. The times of the download, install, and hack are all depending upon your internet speed, so it could take less time or more time. Once the Plants vs. Zombies generator has finished, all you have to do is open up Plants vs. Zombies on your tablet or phone, and you will see the items added to your account. You can choose to go back and add more to your account if you are running low, since this is unlimited, and you can also run this hack tool on other compatible devices as well, which works great if you are running the game on both platforms.

Essential Tips & Cheats for Plants Vs Zombies

The first thing you need to look to at the start of every level is resource generation. You gain 25 sun intermittently during the day levels (during night you get no additional sun!) so planting sunflowers is the first step towards victory. It’s difficult to state definitively how many sunflowers you need exactly, but as a good rule of thumb I usually plant the back two rows full of sunflowers. The only time I do not do this is during the night levels (mushrooms are cheap, and do not require a large amount of sun) or during the pool levels, as the lilypads are a bit expensive.

It’s usually better to wait for more sun to plant harder hitting plants than it is to plant a bunch of weak peashooters. This is due to the fact that you have limited space in your garden, so especially as you get to later more difficult levels, space efficiency is key. If you have one space shooting two peas instead of one, you’ve already doubled your damage. This can be difficult.

The shovel is your friend! By using the shovel to clear away plants you don’t need you’ll clear additional space. This can be used as a good tactic. If you start to get overwhelmed in the beginning of a particular stage, you can plant the cheap fast plants like the peashooter, then shovel them up later to make room for yourharder-hitting, more useful plants.

Remember to tailor your plants to the level you’re currently playing. You’re not going to be able to use mushrooms during the daytime, but you also shouldn’t use sunflowers. It’s the best idea to go with the right plants for the job- bring Lily pads for the water levels. Bring the mushrooms for the night levels, and bring catapults for the roof levels. You’re only going to be as effective as your choice of plants.

Use the Grave Buster plant to clear gravestones. This is a great way to get extra coins if you happen to need them, because they seem to have a much higher coin drop rate than normal zombies do.

Don’t be afraid to spend coins-they’re easy enough to get. You start with 200,000 coins, after all- more than enough than you’ll need to unlock all of the mini games and get a good start with getting the majority of the plants available. -And besides, these mini games are pretty dang fun!

Twin Sunflowers are one of the best plants available from Crazy Dave’s shop. Earlier I suggested two rows of sunflowers or sun shrooms, but if you’re able to get a twin sunflower out- you’re able to use that second garden slot that you would’ve used on the sunflower for another offensive plant!

Artwork

Plants vs Zombies isn’t going to be winning any art contests, but it does have a certain charm. I enjoy how the zombie reading a newspaper has a visibly tattered business suit- and the plants are cute. The juxtaposition of the subject matter (zombie apocalypse) and the bright and cutesy art style makes for a bit of visual fun here.

Music & SFX

The music is lackluster. There’s only a singular track, and that very quickly starts to wear on you as you play. More music options would definitely improve the audio tedium here- I found myself turning the audio off after 10 minutes of gameplay. The sound effects are pretty alright. The zombies groan and the peas give a satisfying *pop* when they hit them. The issue stems from the fact that the game is literally nothing other than peas hitting groaning zombies- the sound effects are fine, they just happen too often for them not to wear out very quickly.

Story & Originality

There’s no real story here- there’s a guy named Crazy Dave who is our neighbor and sells us stuff. The zombies occasionally leave us notes, but these don’t’ say anything substantial and amount to – “We’re about to launch a full-scale attack” The game is a standard tower defense game- with an interesting theme. It certainly scores points in the originality category for the plethora of minigames, though. You can play whack-a-zombie and bowling zombies with walnuts. It’s a bit frustrating that these minigames can’t be played until you’re 1/4th of the way through the main story.
9/10

General Gameplay

The game is generally very solid mechanically. If you’re a fan of tower defense games, this won’t disappoint. It’s also accessible to new or casual gamers- it leads the player in slow and then ramps up the challenge as they switch up the gameplay mechanics slightly- locking out part of your established strategy as you move to a new location. The minigames are tons of fun, and it’s certainly worth playing the main game at least to the point where you unlock them

Addictiveness

There is no energy mechanic or any sort of time restraining to the game except your own desire to play it, which is a great thing in a mobile title. The constant restarting of everything every level wears thin-as you have to plant a good 10+sunflowers (waiting 30+ seconds between each one). This is a game where you’ll want to pick it up to play a level or two then put it back down. The minigames are, however, much more fun as they by and large eliminate the issues with waiting in the beginning. There’s little replay value once you beat the final boss- as there’s no high score leaderboards or multiplayer of any sort.

Overall: 7/10
Considering it’s free and is a great example of a free game, where you’ll never have to spend any money, I’d certainly suggest picking it up. If you’re new to the genre of tower defense or are just enamored by the cutesy charm of the premise and art, then this will be a great entry point into the genre, and you should have plenty of fun if you end up liking the gameplay. If you’re a hardened veteran of tower defense games, it’s hard to see this particular example as little more than a neat skin-it doesn’t bring a huge amount of innovation to the table, but is a solid, highly playable example.
