The Simpsons: Tapped Out: Top 10 Tips and Cheats

The Simpsons: Tapped Out tasks you with making the ultimate version of TV’s most recognizable small town – Springfield. We know you’re all looking to turn your city into a cash grabbing, donut-heavy place of operations. This city building simulation is an addictive good time that will command the attention of economic friendly gamers. Here’s 10 tips, tricks and cheats for the game that will make your own version of Springfield the best one.

Your finger is the mayor of town, so make sure its a clean one! Check out the video below for some extra tips and cheats, too.

1. Tap 10 Times on Homer for Some Quick Unlockables

As a quick starter tip, make sure you tap on Homer to get his tasks list to come on the screen. After that happens, quickly tap on Homer 10 times to unlock 10 free donuts and a Jebediah Statue.

2. Choose The Appropriate Tasks for The Appropriate Characters

Managing your city and its denizens involves giving everyone the right jobs/duties. Imore.com provided a few tips on choosing the right tasks for the right people:

When choosing tasks for your characters to perform, it’s good to be mindful of how long they take and what the reward is. Typically longer tasks come with a higher dollar and/or donut amount attached to them. It’s good to choose these tasks before you’re about to put the game down in order to let your characters achieve these while you’re away.

If you’re actively playing the game and building things out, it’s good to assign your characters to perform shorter tasks. The monetary amount may not be as much but you’ll get to interact with your character a lot more. Those little tasks can sometimes add up to decent amounts of cash or donuts rather fast too.

3. Tap on The XP/$ Symbols to Collect More Quickly

Your screen might get flooded with tons of money and experience symbols as your town becomes more fruitful. Instead of you having to tap on each symbol when trying to collect all the cash and XP, do this – tap on one XP/$ symbol, close your task book, wait 5-10 seconds and all the onscreen extra XP/cash will be collected.

4. Everything You Need to Know About the Conform-o-Meter

The Conform-o-Meter that lies on the bottom half of your screen holds some important info regarding the rankings for several stats, such as Indolence and Tree-hugging. Blog.Games.com explained the purpose of that important meter:

Pay attention to the Conform-o-Meter found in the bottom left of your screen. The Conform-o-Meter ranks you according to eight categories; Indolence, Consumerism, Tree-hugging, Vanity, Obedience, Gluttony, Righteousness and Socialism. You can check on your current rankings as well as learn how to raise your ranking in each category by tapping on the Conform-o-Meter in the bottom right of your screen (The Stars). As you improve this rating you earn a % bonus to the Money and XP that you receive.

5. Donuts>Money

The in-game cash and donuts you can purchase helps you complete objectives much quicker and unlock new items. You’re much better off buying some donuts if you’re looking to be even quicker. Donuts allow you rush the completion of objectives, which then leads to even more extra cash. That cash comes in handy once you try to buy more items faster and gain more experience.

Modojo.com listed all the donuts you’ll be able to buy and the exchange rate on donuts for cash:

Dozen Donuts: $1.99
Stack of 60 Donuts: $4.99
Tray of 132 Donuts: $9.99
Truckload of 300 Donuts: $19.99
Store Full of 900 Donuts: $49.99

6. Tap on Your Neighbors Items for Easy Cash Every 24 Hours

Your friends will be busy building up their own Springfield, too. Make sure you take a few minutes out of your day to tap three of their buildings so you’ll collect some items. Take advantage of your friends (like you always do…) and farm their towns for collectibles.

7. Build Up Plenty of Homes and Businesses

Imore.com also released some advice regarding the development of homes and businesses:

Commercial spaces such as the Kwik-E-Mart and others have the ability to earn you higher income but it comes at the cost of time. While you can trigger more tasks at once, they’ll most likely take longer. These are good ones to have as a steady stream of income. I typically trigger tasks when I can and definitely always have tasks running while I’m away from the game. That way I come back to a nice pile of cash the next time I play.

Residential properties will earn you income tax on a pretty regular basis but it isn’t a ton of cash. You can supplement this by checking on the houses and making sure there aren’t any other tasks you can perform. For example, at the Flanders you can send Lisa to babysit. These kinds of residential tasks take longer but earn more cash.

8. Grow Plenty of Plants on Cletus’ Farm, Too

Cletus’ farm lets you grow and nurture several types of plants that net you more money and XP. Check out all the plants you can grow on Cletus’ farm below:

Perfection, Costs 2 Money, Growth Time is 45 seconds: You’ll Gain 10 Money & 2 XP

Triffids Costs 80 Money, Growth Time is 12 hours: You’ll Gain (Sadly…) End of Humanity

10. The Purpose of Sideshow You

The Sideshow You slots game will help you win random prizes as soon as you come across it once the “Krusty-est Place on Earth” quest line unlocks. The game’s unofficial tips blog explained the purpose behind the Sideshow You slots game:

Sideshow you is introduced in part 15 of Krusty-est place on Earth quest line and is the 3rd decoration to be placed in Krustyland. It requires a minimum of level 22 so if you at level 20 or 21, you won’t be able to buy it until you reach to level 22. It costs 1000 tickets to build and it’s Krustyland’s version of the Kwik-E-Mart’s Scratch-R however, unlike the Scratch-R, it is free to play. You have the chance to pop 3 balloons, with prizes inside each one, once every 8 hours. The odds are below.

Prize. – Odds
5 Tickets – 20%
10 Tickets – 40%
25 Tickets – 30%
50 Tickets – 9%
5 Donuts – 1%

In addition to winning prizes, you will win 5 donuts, not 50 after you have played 299 games. So, providing that you set a timer and play once every 8 hours on the dot, you will receive your 5 donuts after 100 days.
