Your multiplier count is the most important thing you have to keep in mind when trying to chase a high score, may it be your old one, that of a friend, or one of those (realistic) high scores on the leaderboard. Every time you shoot consecutively without missing, that adds one point to your multiplier count – it doesn’t necessarily have to be a kill, as your multiplier can increase even if you don’t kill the bird just yet. But once you miss a shot, that brings your multiplier back to its base level, which is usually 1x.
In Guncat, you have to fire your weapon at the birds and go for the kill, but this doesn’t apply to all birds – the bomb birds are the ones you should NOT fire at, because that will blow them up and have you failing the round automatically. And it gets harder not to fire at bomb birds throughout the course of a round – the farther you go, the more bomb birds you’ll see, and the closer they’ll be to regular birds. Take extra precaution once you get to that part of a round.
You’ll get penalized in this game if you let a bird pass by without shooting at it – that will allow them to hit you and take some of your ammo away from you. But you can easily get that ammo back by shooting at ammo box birds. It’s best advised that you start taking aim when they’re close to each other.
It works for some – although it’s mostly a cosmetic change, using your coins on new cats or hairstyles could be a good way to freshen up your character and break the monotony. But if you really want to be productive and score high, those coins should be spent on buying better guns with better abilities and additional ammo.
Why should you regularly go to the collection area? You should go there because that’s where you’ll see the birds you’ve yet to shoot; brown birds are those whom you’ve already shot, while green ones are the ones you need to focus on as you haven’t acquired them yet.
