Mighty Games’ Shooty Skies is only available for iOS devices as of this writing, but given that it’s from the same creators of Crossy Road and a casual, endless flying game, we’re bound to see it arrive for Android devices at some point in the near future. As usual, the game’s description is quite a sparse one – it supposedly includes colorful pilots, adorable enemies, epic bosses, (and) colorful, adorable, epic loot crates. In other words, this should be another quirky title that adds a new twist to the Crossy Road mechanic – something similar, but most likely quite different at the end of the day.

The main goal of this game is to last as long as possible, acquire some powerful weapons, and beat your high score. We can help you with all of that with these Shooty Skies tips, tricks and cheats.

1. Save Your Money To Buy The Best Weapons

Actually, the word “buy” may be a bit of a misnomer here. It’s more like renting weapons, as you get to unlock them for two hours, and not a minute longer than that. As such, it would really be best to save your money for those powerful weapons, such as the Quad Guns. Try as many weapons as possible and see which one works for you the best, but once you’ve found something you prefer working with, you’ll want to unlock it repeatedly. You want to stick to what’s tried and true, and it might take too much of your time if you try to master all the weapons.

2. There’s No Need To Unlock Lower-End Weapons To Get A Good One

Contrary to what you may be thinking, Shooty Skies doesn’t require players to unlock all previous weapons to get the next one up. You can actually get the final weapon, the Honey Badger, without having to unlock all those below it; just pony up the coins and buy, or should we say, rent it if you can afford it.

As a bonus tip, go for the power-ups and upgrades even if they may change how your weapon works. There’s a good chance you’ll be able to unlock a good sidekick that could help you last longer.

3. Enemies Tend To Be Predictable

This doesn’t happen all the time, as there may be instances where enemies could rush you with a flurry of bullets, but other than that, they all shoot in the same way. That allows you to memorize their pattern and plan your flight accordingly so you can stay clear of their bullets. Indeed, staying in one position may be the best way to avoid enemy attacks, but you may sometimes have to stick and move to stay safe.

4. Don’t Fly At The Bottom Too Often

Another usual tactic enemies use in this game is to force you to fly lower than you should. The obvious workaround here would be to fly at the bottom, but as you may know by now, the obvious strategy isn’t always the best. Try flying around in the bottom third of the screen, and practice moving around in that area so you can fire at enemies and avoid their shots.
