I’m having a lot of fun recently with Jurassic World, the game not the movie. While it appears to be a city-building dinosaur training game, there is also a battle system integrated to allow you to put your well-groomed dinosaurs to work. This is possibly the heart of the game for many players while the park building takes a back seat.
The dino battles are tense and exciting, and at times, can really test the strategist in you. In summary, you start with one action point, and you gain more each round. Action points can be spent in three ways: Attack, defend or save. But if you’re here, chances are you already know how it works, and you need a way to defeat the next level. Here are some tips and tricks:
Rare Dinos
Amid all the normal dinosaurs, there are certain dinos that are rare. These rare dinos have much better stats and, as a consequence, are harder to level up. But they are definitely worth it. After playing so long and leveling up many dinos to the max, I kinda wish that I had instead spent all my food on the rare ones.
You will know exactly what I mean when you battle a rare level 40 against a common level 40 dino. It will be a piece of cake.
Free Card Packs
Every 24 hours, you can grab yourself a free card pack. Do it! It’s free food, free cash and free DNA! The best part about it is that sometimes you also get a free dino. These free dinos are very important in this game because of how the Evolve system works (I’m not a big fan of the Evolve system btw).
So go head and click them every time you launch the game. After all, you have nothing to lose.
Rare Missions
Every few days, you get a couple of rare missions that reward you with rare dino packs. These are really good but not that easy to get. The battles are usually very challenging, so put your best dinos forward, and use the rare ones if you have. Also, keep an eye on the timer. Remember that you have to do the mission three times before the time runs out, usually in a few days.
Strategic placements
You might be tempted to build your Jurassic park in a fancy way, or similar to the movie. But since the game uses decorations to increase the income generated from the dinos, it is better to arrange the dinos in a strategically profitable way. Personally, I use a grid base system. I place all the dinos in rows and I squeeze the decorations in between each rows.
It’s totally up to you how you want to arrange them, but keep in mind that you need the money because food is expensive yo!
Avoid the Arena
Rare card missions and the normal challenges are cool, but do NOT attempt to enter the online Arena unless you have max level rare dinosaurs and are extremely good and experienced in combat tactics. Currently, the match-making system does not do a good job at pitting you against similar players so you are bound to meet epic players who will just demolish your dinos.
Personally, I told myself that the Arena is endgame. After several failed attempts, I told myself that I will 0nly join the arena once I have an awesome lineup of rare max level dinosaurs.
There you go, five tips to a successful jurassic park. Some of these tips are common sense, but I feel like we all need a reminder once in a while as we get complacent in the long run.
I hope you do well raising those cute little bastards and I hope to see you in the Arena when you are ready!
Cheers!
