So you’ve just downloaded Modern Combat 5: Blackout and are raring to play it. We get your excitement, but before you head to the battlefield, the first thing you have to do is check your controls in the Options menu. We recommend turning Auto-Sprint on, as it allows your character to move extraordinarily fast. The Custom HUD option is also recommended in case you’re not comfortable with the default controls. There’s no right or wrong way to set controls, just as long as you’re comfortable with the setup.
The game has a total of five classes, starting with the default Recon class, which is best in handling SMGs and pistols. Recon is best recommended for close-range or medium-range action. Assault soldiers, of course, use assault rifles and pistols, and are best in terms of dealing damage to the bad guys. Heavy soldiers are ideal for close-range fighting, Snipers use sniper rifles for long-range attacks, and Support is essentially the balanced class.
New to FPS games, or new to Modern Combat 5: Blackout? There’s no need to worry, because the game has an Auto-Shoot option available. Turn it on and the game will automatically shoot at an enemy once your target viewpoint homes in on one. As a bonus to this tip, Auto-Aim is only available in single-player mode, while Auto-Crouch can also be quite helpful for Modern Combat 5: Blackout/FPS beginners.
Look at the crosshair size and that’ll tell you just how accurate you’re aiming your weapon. Your accuracy will be best when you’re using a scope or iron sights, it’ll be good when you’re crouching, and merely solid if you’re standing. But if you’re running or walking, expect your accuracy to be anywhere between iffy and all-out terrible.
With more experience points, you’ll be able to access better weapons and accessories, customize your character, and choose different classes of soldier. You can get more XP by completing missions, especially if you’ve got three stars upon completion, and even grind for XP by replaying successful missions. Trick shots such as headshots and explosive kills are also a great way to earn more XP.
