Don't Starve Pocket Edition Cheats, Tips & Hints: 5 Ways to Ensure Longer Survival

Don’t Starve Pocket Edition is a new title by Klei Entertainment that brings the fun of the PC title over to mobile, though right now it’s only available for iOS device owners – iPad owners, to be specific. You’ll be able to play the game if you own an iPad 3/iPad Mini 2 or newer, which also leaves owners of older iPads out of the fun. Despite all these restrictions, this game is quite a hit among players, who step into the shoes of a “Gentleman Scientist” named Winston, who’s trapped in a strange world and needing to stay alive and get out. It’s not going to be easy to return to civilization, but with our collection of Don’t Starve Pocket Edition cheats, tips and hints, you can survive longer and make your way out faster.

1. Focus On Gathering The Important Resources

Aside from food, you’ll also want to gather more rocks in the early stages of Don’t Starve Pocket Edition. You should start mining rocks as early as possible, mainly when you find the mining area – once you’ve done that, you can create your own Fire Pit, as well as more advanced tools that will help you adapt faster.

2. Avoid Fights Early On

He who fights and runs away lives to fight another day. Keep that in mind in the early goings, as it won’t hurt you if you “chicken out.” If you get into fights early on, you’ll be taking too much damage, and you may not likely get the boost you need from the items that help in beating enemies. Just run if you can’t hold up to an enemy, and keep running until you lose them.
Aside from avoiding enemies, you should always make it a point to steer clear from Pigs, Bee Hives, and Spider Nests.

3. Build The Science Machine As Soon As Possible

Earlier, we talked about having enhanced and higher-end items, and one way to do this is by building the Science Machine. Have it up and running and you’ll be able to craft higher-end weapons, ammo, and other items.

4. Cook Your Food

Cooking isn’t a necessary skill in many mobile games, but in here, you would actually want to cook your food, and not leave it raw and watch it get spoiled. If you leave food in the bushes it won’t spoil, but otherwise, it’s likely to if you leave it around for too long. Make sure you’ve cooked the food that you gather, as cooked food is more nutritious and healthy at the end of the day.

5. Choose A Good Spot For Your First Home Base

Your first home base may only be temporary, as chances are you’ll find a better spot along the way. But you can also have two bases up for longer trips, just as a bonus quickie tip. When it comes to location, you should usually set up your camp near the Pigs or near the Elks (or whatever they call them), as that’s going to give you easy access to meat.
