Fastest way to reach tenth prestige in cod4

Sorry but the previous answer was not accurate in the slightest. I'm currently 2 10th prestiges and I'm on my 3rd now which is 7th prestige in only 3 days played with a 3.63 Kill to death ratio so I know what I'm talking about.

Yes, search and Destroy is the ideal way to get points - IF your good at it. it has taken me since the game was released to get to the point where I average around 900 points per S&D so it's all about practice. Learn the spots, learn the tactics, LISTEN to the enemies movements and you will soon be hitting 1000 point rounds with ease.

If tactical play, quick shots and countering is not your thing you should probably play headquarters, stable points (if you win) of around 500 points per match. Ignore the kills and get the nodes. Kills yield little points and are not worth it.

Team deathmatch for myself is only around 500 points per game due to the fact its kill based and you can only get so many kills!

As for weapons, M16 is the best weapon in the game - FACT. Use this as much as possible to improve your quick shots and gain a damage / distance advantage over any of the random noobs who use p90 jugger / martydom! MP5 is a must with stopping power on small maps and M40 / 50 cal are the best snipers, least recall, highest damage output not to mention increased rate of fire.

In summary, Search and Destroy is the best way to get lots of points but you need to practice, if you know your not that quick or struggle with tactics then play headquarters, as your guarenteed 400 points even if you don't kill anything so long as you get the nodes.
