Is Metal Gear Solid 1 the best metal gear game

In terms of score Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of The Patriots is the best, in terms of copies sold: Metal Gear Solid racks up over 6 million which is around twice of Metal Gear Solid 4 (Only having been out for a much less amount of time). It depends on your viewpoint and if you prefer certain types of games, I can't ask you what the best painting in the world or best book (excluding The Bible, Koran, etc...) is.
-Well, to be honest Metal Gear Solid's flaws are showing up in terms of comparison to other games' gameplay (lousy AI) so its not the best game but in its time maybe.
yeah MGS1 was really ahead of its time in terms of graphics, gameplay, story, Sound
No matter which is better there both great games however I prefer MGS4 i have not realy played it but i'v seen lots of videos and pics and i have the game guide I beat the first MGS 17 or more times
