How do you beat level 7 ghosting mater on mater national for the wii

there is a shortcut, if you go through town then you have gone to far.

After you drive over TEN of the "things" (can't think of a good name for them), divert left and you'll find another by a tree. That will send you on the way.

Thanks for this - I was frustrated and stuck on this level for quite a while.
