How does Riki hear Kallian in the Bionis Interior in Xenoblade Chronicles after defeating Lorithia

When the battle ended, and Kallian had died, his and Melia's spirit connected in an encounter outside of time. The coming and going of spirits bonded by a deep love has such a mysterious power.
However Riki sees as Melia does, in my own guess, because he is a simple creature. His connection to the cosmos hasn't been bread out by the high sings of culture created through centuries of human ingenuity.
