Where can you get a Core Hound in World of Warcraft

Obtaining a Core Hound as a pet for a Hunter used to be very difficult, as the only available ones where the Core Hounds from the Molten Core raid instance or The Beast in Blackrock Spire.

Now, the classic red Core Hounds can also be found in Mount Hyjal, where they can be tamed by level 80+ Hunters.

If you would like to have a Green Corehound, you can tame Uvuros or Spawn of Uvuros in Shadowmoon Valley in Outland. Gomegaz in Blasted Lands (Level 58) and Svarnos in Tol Barad (85) are also of a yellow-green color scheme.

Of note, there are a few creatures labelled as Core Hounds, but are actually other creatures. This includes Chromaggus from Blackwing Lair (who is a Drakeadon) and the Kurken from the Draenei starting zone (who is a two-headed wolf),

Core Hounds are Exotic pets, which means that they can only be tamed by a Hunter who has taken the 31-point Beast Mastery template (in the Beast Master tree).
