Why does Snake die in Metal Gear Solid

It never shows him dying. It says at the end of the fourth one that he's likely to die because of his rapid aging. He's aging so rapidly because that's what happens with clones in real life for some reason. Because he's a clone, his life-span is naturally half as long as the average human's.
