What happens when Sonic the Hedgehog uses Chaos Control

Chaos Control is defined in official profiles and game cut scenes as using Chaos Emeralds to warp time and space - this warp is left very general so that Chaos Control could do a large amount of different things.

Sonic has only been shown to use Chaos Control to teleport himself or an object elsewhere, or if used with another person at the same time, cause a space-time rift and travel in time, but it is unknown if he is able to slow down time to an almost complete standstill like Shadow the Hedgehog can.
