A guild is a place on neopets that you can create. People are able to join it and you can have fun and meet new people and make friends. You can post games and such, but basically that's all you do.

The guilds protected the merchant and craft members from taxes, monopolies, and ensured quality affordable products among other things. They also helped by forming religious functions and schools and providing health care and protection. Eventually they were removed because they hindered innovation and free trade.
