Should kids play M rated games
The main issue with majority of M-rated games is that they received that rating for a reason. If you are okay with exposing your child to the material on the M label, then by all means purchase it for him/her. Generally a video game will receive an M rating for one of four reasons (or a mix of the four). Those are Violence/gore, Sexual themes, strong language, drug/gambling references. It is also important to note that many of these games change dramatically online, as people often talk trash or use inappropriate language. It is strongly recommended that if your child is under 17, you should look into what parts of the game are violent. Sometimes the parts of the game can be turned off or skipped. Take, for example, Modern Warfare 2 (A popular first person shooter for most gaming systems). It contained a level where the player was required to massacre civilians at an airport; however the level could be turned off.
