go to addictinggames.com Runescape.com has a limited free version. its fun, but not as fun as the paid members version. It's an elaborate java based MMORPG which is updated pretty regularly so it's always expanding. A full membership to Runescape is now $5.95 (US) per month, which is still pretty cheap considering how huge the world is, and the seemingly infinite amount of quests, skills, levels and items you can obtain.
another good site for online games is Playfirst.com. The full versions of their games are pretty expensive but some of the more popular games have free online versions which are fun.

And of course theres always the Games section of AdultSwim.com which are all 100% free. I should warn you that some of these games are not for children, though.
