When is Star Wars Kinect the video game due out
The Star Wars Kinect game unveiled during Microsoft's E3 2010 Project Natal extravaganza in June is set for a Christmas 2011 release.
That's according to Kinect's creative director, Kudo Tsunoda, who was talking to the BBC.
"We have a Kinect Star Wars game coming out for next holiday [Christmas 2011]," he said.
"I think you could just easily imagine being a Jedi and using Kinect to make you feel you're part of a Star Wars experience, building yourself up into a Jedi.
"I've seen a bunch of the game and it's super compelling."
Tsunoda's enthusiasm for the game will help quell concern surrounding the project -- we've seen nothing of Star Wars Kinect since its brief E3 2010 video demonstration.
In September LucasArts reconfirmed to Eurogamer that Star Wars Kinect, which is quietly in development at Ghostbusters: The Videogame creator Terminal Reality, will be released next year.
Little is known about the game. Terminal Reality is building it with the Infernal Engine, the same used to create Ghostbusters, according to Gamasutra.
The video shown during E3 2010, which you can see below, suggests Star Wars Kinect is an on-rails third-person action game in which the player wields an imaginary lightsaber and duels Darth Vader.
Let's not forget that a Kinect Forza game is also in the works. Tsunoda hasn't: "And another one next year is Forza, which is the best racing game of this generation of consoles," he said. "Those are the two games I'm most excited about."
Kinect launched in the UK at midnight last night
