How did Tails die on Sonic Colors

Tails absolutely does NOT die in Sonic Colors. And I should know not only being the HUGE sonic fanatic that I am and that I own Sonic Colors and I beat it 100% all red rings all S ranks and all chaos emeralds. And nothing happened where Tails died.
