When was the first sonic the hedgehog comic book

.......... Actually, the first Sonic the Hedgehog comic book was released in the Fall of 1991 as a 16 page one shot by Sega. This particular comic is also smaller than a regular comic book. It is considered rare with less than 1500 copies estimated to exist. In new condition it commands hundreds of dollars. Roughly the same time in 1991, but most likely a month or two after the mini comic was released, Detective comics #639, Justice League Europe #33 and Superman #62 included a 16 page insert with the same story and art as the mini comic. All of these came before any other sonic comic book including the Archie #1.
