Is Metal Gear Solid 4 the saddest game ever

If you know the characters from the earlier games and have followed the series closely then the game is most definitely one of the saddest to have been written.
Mostly because *spoilers ahead*

You see characters you've grown attached to in the past games die easily, such as Eva who turns out to be Snakes surrogate mother.
Naomi who had developed cancer.
The fact that snake is old due to his degeneration.
Riden is crushed by a whole ship in an attempt to save snake.
Big boss dies in front of his son for a third time in the series, this time they make up and everything is explained.
