What was the E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial Atari 2600 game

The game was released in 1982. The object of the game is to find parts of a telephone to communicate with ET's spaceship so he can go home. Despite the movie being one of the most successful films of all time, the game is often considered the worst video game ever. In 1983, truckloads of E.T. cartridges were dumped into a landfill in New Mexico.
