Who Murdered Werner Von Croy

It was at the last cut scenes that Karel actually murdered Von Croy but before Lara was on the run from the French police. He was thought at first that he was shot however Karel removed elements from his body that helped to hopefully revive the cubiculum Nephili AKA The Sleeper.
