Can you play mass effect on vista 64

ATM Im searching for the answer for this qest and so far it seems yes....... .....but, it appears that you will need to fiddle about with the settings and patch the game to get it to run. When you click to play the game you get the message "mass effect has stopped working". There are solutions online to solve this problem and make it run on vista 64.
