You need to use your lantern to keep away the fog, The guy who is on the left before you enter the cave (if you have the Xbox, on the right) gives you a free one, set the lantern. ( If you have got the wii game, set it to left, right or down on the wii remote, press B.) I advise you to use it every 5 seconds or the fog will close in on you or if you are trying to get to the forest temple and you have your lantern out, a monkey will steal it and you have to follow it.
