Why is WOW good

Most people say they like World of Warcraft because it is/has:
Quest oriented, but open for PVP
A growing world (new lands added every so often)
Characters can grow in stature (from 1-60 originally, then 1-70, now 1-80)
Imaginative armor and weapon sets
Guilds and guild banks
