Does Far Cry 2 end after main plot as in you have to start over when the main plot ends ala Mass Effect

Yes...when the main plot ends you are assumed dead as you are given a choice between being blown up by dynamite or shooting yourself in the head. Apparently you are terminal with the malaria I guess.

Pretty disappointing ending to a great game. There were a few missions I didn't get to and ended about 96% complete. But I didn't have any other places to get assigned a mission so...???...whatever!
