How do you make an online game

Making an online game can be accomplished in two ways: 1) Use several of the excellent online game editors to build a simple online game (examples of this can be found at pbmcube.com who has an ever expanding collection of online game builders.); 2) Learn to create online games using either flash, director or java. Of the three, flash is the most popular and many books are written on how to create games using this technology. Director is more complicated and uses javascript, while java is the most complicated and required significant training. There is another way to create online games! I recommend using either Game Maker - a program I use to teach my high school students how to program - or Torque - which is my favorite to build advance professional looking 3D games and games for the XBox.
