Is dark souls 2 or 1 player

Dark Souls is only one player. You can however summon other players to help you defeat a boss. Online is needed and you also have to be a human to see the summon signs, not undead. You can offer Humanity to the Bonfire to revive back to human again. It will wear off if you die.
