How do you use kaioken on Super Smash Flash v0.8

to activate kaioken X2 you gotta charge your kai,and damage an enemy or smash ball with it. but i cant get it to stay.after i use 1 attack it stops.Also for every second Kaioken is active you take damage,so more than 5 seconds of having it gives about 30 damage to you.
