How do you pay bills in Sims 3

You take one of your sims and you click on the mail box if the little flag thing is up. It should give you the option to pay your bills. For me, sometimes the mailman (or woman) will throw your bills on the ground, so keep an eye out for it. I hope I helped, and keep on playing! :)!
