Most probably because most Video Games companies are based in Asia. It's a part of their culture now. They have the technological advances. Your question is a tad short-sighted. But that's beyond the point. Herman Li for example (from uber glamour/power/hair metal band Dragonforce) he incorporates video game sounds into his guitar playing. Just as British musicians try to capture their culture into their music. They don't do it cos it's cool, they do it cos it's who they are. Dragonforce aren't cool.
