Is there going to be a new Metroid game

There haven't been any announcements from Nintendo concerning a new Metroid game, no, but it is almost undoubtedly sure that there will be another game in the series. Being as popular and successful as it is, it would be almost stupid of Nintendo not to continue the games. It normally takes a year or two between Metroid games as of late, so with the release of Other M in 2010, it means a new game could be announced this year or next, and chances are said game would be released in 2012 or 2013.

P.S. This whole post is just purely conjecture, so I may as well add that they will probably make it cross-compatible between 3DS and Wii U; like the new Smash Brothers game.
