Is Albert Wesker finally dead in Resident Evil 5

He's the final boss in the game which you can finally have a one on one battle. And you get to see his demise.
I don't think he finally dies although there is a big explosion, it only makes him weak because if he was dead they wouldn't be creating resident evil 6.
