In Metal Gear Solid 3 Mr. Kojima and his company decided to use the facial structure and voice of Solid Snake to let the fans recognize that Naked Snake is the "Father" of Solid and Liquid Snake. But because Big Boss is older now the made him look like Solidus. Solidus is actually a genetic copy of Big Boss sometime in his 50's, 60's, or 70's. That is why he looks more like Solidus in MGS4. And quite possibly to just show a difference between Big Boss and Solid Snake.
