What is the background of the boss from metal gear 3
She was a soldier who fought in Normandy during World War Two against the Nazis, it's not confirmed but heavily hinted that Ocelot was her son, and the Sorrow is the father. Ocelot was taken from her by the Philosophers. Later she formed the Cobra unit (the boss characters during the game) to help beat the Nazis. She is credited with everything from special forces to camoflage to CQC, and takes on a student, Jack (Snake, later Big Boss). They were both exposed to nuclear radiation when America conducted testing, and later when she was used as a space pilot because of the high risk of radiation. It was during that time she realised all the fighting between countries and grew to despise it. In 1964 Snake is sent on a mission to rescue a scientist named Sokolov, before the Boss defects, taking Sokolov with her and handing him over to Soviet Colonel Volgin. To sweeten the deal she also hands him nuclear missiles, which he uses on the Soviet science installation. Snake is then ordered to kill her so that America is absolved of any responsibility. However before he does Boss tells the truth to Eva, who later tells Snake. The Boss was going to spy on the Soviets until Volgin used the nuke. Because of that the Boss was to sacrifice herself to Snake as a traitor so that America would save face. This very much plants the seeds for Big Boss' actions in creating Outer Heaven, a paradise for mercenaries and soldiers who weren't answerable to the government, and ergo would not be used like the Boss was.
