How many players are in Resident Evil 5

There are 2 playable characters in story mode. (Chris & Sheva)
But in the Mercenaries there are 10. (3 Chris, 3 Sheva, 2 Jill, and 2 Wesker)
Versus -same as mercenaries-
2 playable in Lost in Nightmares. (Jill & Chris)
2 in Desperate Escape. (Jill & Josh)
8 in The Mercenaries Reunion. (2 Chris & Sheva, Josh, Excella, Barry, and Rebecca)
