Ease of driving Col de Tende Except in winter, you should not need a four wheel drive vehicle to drive the Col de Tende. I did it late at night in a two wheel drive Fiat in about 1970. The route has been improved. Lots of sharp switchbacks, but nothing difficult. Thornton Clark
