How do you open the locker in Nancy drew and the creature of kapu cave - I have the combination but am unable to get it to work on locker 13

Locker answer If you want to open the locker, you need the combination. Since you already have it, go to locker #13, and enter it. If it says L2 then you turn it left until it reaches 2. Once you reach 2, then press the top button. The one inside of the circle is incase you mess up. Press it and you can re-enter the combination in case you screw up.
Did you get past the eel? I didn't and I need to know how!! Please help!
