Well the inspiration is pretty much like how they want to do it like there style and how they are going to make the game work. It's their game they get to choose how the levels look, they get to choose everything and they are inspired that they can let their imagination come to life. A professional game designer gets inspiration from everything, books, blogs, magazines, movies, other games, commercials, etc, etc, etc...
