Use a limp free cloth and maybe a little bit of alcohol. Don't use abrasives or solvents or acidic cleaners because they will damage the coating of the disc or cause more frictions, which will completely ruin your disc and make it unplayable forever. So take the cloth and work from the centre to the edge and do that several times. Just keep on going, keep on going. Until you're satisfied that it's clean and ready to play again.

And once that's done, you're good to go. And so to recap, you need a limp free cloth, alcohol, not acidic abrasive solvents. And you clean from the centre to the edge in a straight line.

Also toothpaste has been known to work quite well as long as it all gets wipe doff disc reallly good.
Unless you want to buy some DVD cleaning paste, I'll tell you the ghetto way. Wet the tip of a cloth and just rub the bottom of the disc. If it's scratched pretty heavy you might be hooped. If nothing works and you have used the DVD paste, try rubbing the disc with tooth paste. Make sure to get all of the tooth paste off of the surface.

Also, I think Gamestop will put it in their machine for 5$ and certain video stores have cleaning machines as well.
