What are the advantages and disadvantages of computer games
They are fun to play, but can be distracting.

Advantages:
  • Play when you want
  • You can start over if you lose
  • Play with a friend
  • More Visual and usually Audio than a book or board game
  • Animation
  • Wide variety of interests represented
  • Some games are educational
  • Entertainment
  • Computer games provide an outlet for frustration
  • A community for like minded individuals (MMORPGs)
  • A chance to do something that is impossible in real life
  • Improve skills in a way that is entertaining
  • May play a significant role in fulfilling several psychological needs of humans, which ultimately carve out way for better mental health.
  • Improved eye hand coordination
  • Some newer games introduce exercise, dance skills, yoga, and singing.


 Disadvantages:
  • Fragile and expensive hardware
  • Can trigger seizures in people with epilepsy
  • Less exercise when playing stationary games
  • Can be habit forming and take up too much of your time
  • If allowed to dominate your child's leisure and study time, video game scan decrease development of skills in sports, music, and art. Performance in school can be affected if reading and homework
  • If pursued as a solitary activity, playing video games can decrease important social interactions with family and friends
