How do you solve the problem when you try to open counter strike 1.6 and it goes back to your desktop screen

First go to Program Files, then to counter strike folder. There you will see an icon named HL. Right click on that and go to properties.Click Compatibility then click run this application for Windows 98/Me. Then click Run in 649x480 screen resolution and click Disable Visual Themes. And then your done !! TA-DA !! if its still there, do the same with your Counter Strike 1.6 icon !!
