Do you have to have sex in the sims or in the sims 2 console version

In the PC game, you determine your goals in playing. However, most Sims will roll a Want to have Woohoo, especially if they're in love.

You could challenge yourself to keep your Sim happy without Woohoo, but I suspect it would be very difficult.
