How do you catch a Lanturn Fly on Animal Crossing Wild World

Lantern flys come in summer (usually on sunny evenings) and will fly off if you move too fast. If you want to catch one, move really slowly towards to tree it's on but dont get too close or it will fly away, just get close enough so that you will catch it and swing the net.
