How many years of school is required to make video games

I have always wanted to make video games since I was 7. and I was wondering how many years of school are required to make them. yet, for a really long time I wanted to do what Shovel Knight and Shantae did, and release originally on Nintendo devices, and maybe later on maybe on other platforms.
