How do you hack computer games without a cheat ingine

Well, for beginners, cheat engine is usually your best bet. But some games will save your game as a text file with some code in it (Usually this is for older games, newer ones usually save your game as a .sav file). You can sometimes manipulate this code to your advantage. If you find the part of the file that, for example says "moneys_01 = 0" then you can change that to "moneys_01 = 5000".
